I’m Anthony, the maker behind In the Groove Woodwork. From my workshop in Springwood, in the Blue Mountains, I make custom furniture from reclaimed and recycled timber for people who want something personal, practical, and built with care.
Made for the way a home is actually lived in
I make furniture for the moments that happen around it: family dinners, a busy kitchen, a hallway that needs to work harder, a living room that needs proper storage, or a piece that becomes part of the everyday rhythm of a home. I like the practical side as much as the finished look. The right dimensions, a useful shelf, a well-placed drawer, or a table that gives everyone enough room can make a real difference once the piece is in use.

Every piece is made in my Springwood workshop in the Blue Mountains. Workshop visits are available by appointment if you would like to talk through a project in person. I work with customers across the Blue Mountains, Greater Western Sydney, and wider NSW. Collection is available from Springwood, and delivery or in-home placement can be arranged.
Timber with a story behind it
I work with reclaimed and recycled timber because good material deserves another life. It’s a more considered way to make furniture, and it brings character you simply can’t manufacture. The grain, old marks and natural variation are not things to hide. They are part of the history of the board and part of what makes every finished piece individual. When I know where the timber has come from, I will share that story. When I do not, I will be honest about what I know and let the material speak for itself.
