Custom furniture

A custom piece should make life at home work better. Maybe you need a dining table that seats everyone without swallowing the room. Maybe there is a hallway that needs storage, a kitchen that needs a practical island, or a space that standard furniture won’t fit. You don’t need a finished drawing before you enquire. Send through a photo, a few rough measurements and a sense of what you need. I will help you turn it into a clear plan.

I make custom dining tables, hall and console tables, kitchen islands, shelving, entertainment units, and other one-off timber pieces. If it is for a home and needs to be properly considered, I am happy to talk it through.

My process from first idea to final placement

Step 1 — Tell me what you need

Start with what you have. A photo of the room, rough measurements, a Pinterest image or a quick message explaining the problem is enough. It also helps to know your suburb, ideal timing and whether there is a budget you need to work within.

Step 2 — Work through the design and timber

We will talk about size, function, timber, finish and the practical details that make a difference once the piece is in your home. Reclaimed timber has its own character, so I will make sure you understand the grain, marks and variation that come with the material.

Step 3 — Confirm the quote and book the work

Once the details are clear, I will provide a quote for your piece. A 50% deposit secures the work. The remaining balance is due on delivery or collection.

Step 4 — Build your piece

Your furniture is made by hand in my Springwood workshop. I focus on the timber, construction and finish so the piece is built for the job it needs to do.

Step 5 — Collection, delivery or placement

You can collect your completed piece from Springwood. Delivery is available across the Blue Mountains, Greater Western Sydney and wider NSW by arrangement. I can also provide in-home placement or installation where needed.

Price guidance

Every custom piece is quoted around its size, design, timber, finish and delivery requirements. The guides below are a starting point only. The best way to get an accurate price is to send through what you have in mind.

Timber with character

Reclaimed timber often carries marks from its previous life: knots, grain variation, old nail holes and small imperfections. These features are not defects. They are part of what makes the material individual. If you are after a perfectly uniform, factory-style finish, reclaimed timber may not be the right fit. If you like warmth, texture and a piece that does not look like everyone else’s, it is a beautiful material to work with.

Working with homeowners and design professionals

I work directly with homeowners, and I am also happy to collaborate with interior designers, stylists and trade professionals who need a reliable local maker for a client project. Clear briefs, dimensions, site information and realistic timeframes make the process easier for everyone.
