Australia-only sales and delivery

Our website, furniture offers and services are intended for customers in Australia. We do not accept orders for delivery outside Australia and do not ship furniture internationally.

1. Using this website

You may use this website for personal and lawful purposes, including viewing our work, learning about custom furniture, making an enquiry and asking about ready-made pieces.

You must not misuse the website. This includes interfering with its operation, attempting to gain unauthorised access, introducing malicious material, scraping or copying content for commercial use, or using the website in a way that is unlawful or likely to harm another person.

We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website at any time. We will take reasonable care in preparing website content, but we do not guarantee that every page, image, product listing or link will always be complete, current or available.

2. Website information is a guide, not a quote

The furniture, photographs, dimensions, pricing guidance, lead-time guidance and delivery information on this website are provided as a helpful starting point. They are not a binding offer or quote unless we confirm them in writing.

Custom furniture is quoted around the individual piece, including its size, design, timber, finish, delivery requirements and the work involved. Ready-made pieces are subject to prior sale and availability. We may correct a genuine website error, including an error in a description, price or availability, before accepting an order.

3. Reclaimed timber and handmade work

We work with reclaimed and recycled timber because it has character that cannot be manufactured. Knots, grain variation, old nail holes, colour movement, small marks and other features from the timber’s previous life may be visible in the finished piece.

These natural variations are part of the material and mean no two boards, and no two finished pieces, will be identical. Timber colour and character can also appear different in person from how it appears on a phone, tablet or computer screen.

We will take reasonable care to describe a custom piece or ready-made product accurately. Before accepting a custom quote, please ask any questions you have about the timber, dimensions, finish, use or visible character of the material.

4. Enquiries, quotes and custom commissions

An enquiry does not commit either of us to a project. We will discuss your space, intended use, measurements, timber, design, timing, delivery and other relevant details before providing a quote where appropriate.

A written quote will set out the agreed scope of work, price, payment arrangements, lead time and any delivery or installation details. A custom commission is only confirmed when we accept the project and the required deposit has been paid, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

A quote may have an expiry date. If it does not, contact us before relying on it, because timber availability, delivery costs and workshop capacity can change.

5. Measurements, access and project information

Please provide accurate information about the intended space, access, delivery location and the way you intend to use the piece. This includes details of stairs, lifts, tight doorways, narrow hallways, parking restrictions and any other access issue that may affect delivery or installation.

If we rely on measurements supplied by you, you are responsible for ensuring they are accurate unless we have agreed in writing to measure or verify the space ourselves. Tell us as soon as possible if your brief, measurements, site access or delivery requirements change.

6. Changes to a custom order

We understand that ideas can evolve. If you would like to change a detail after work has begun, contact us as soon as possible.

Whether a change can be made will depend on the stage of the build, timber availability and the practical effect on the work. We will explain what is possible and any expected impact on price or timing before proceeding with an agreed change.

7. Pricing, deposits and payment

The price and payment terms for a custom commission will be stated in the accepted quote or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a 50% deposit is required to secure a custom order and begin the work. The remaining balance is due on delivery or collection.

We currently accept cash or EFT for custom work. A ready-made product listing, order confirmation or invoice will state the payment method that applies to that piece.

Unless we state otherwise, delivery and in-home placement are quoted separately. A website price guide is not a substitute for a project-specific quote. Any applicable GST treatment will be shown in the relevant quote, invoice or product listing.

8. Ready-made one-off pieces

Each ready-made piece is unique and subject to availability. If you are interested in a piece listed as Available Now, contact us through the product enquiry option or as otherwise directed on the listing. We will confirm that the piece is still available, and discuss collection or delivery costs before finalising the order.

We may remove or update an item once it is sold, reserved, no longer available or found to contain an error in its listing.

9. Collection, delivery and installation

Collection is available from Springwood by arrangement. Delivery is available across the Blue Mountains, Greater Western Sydney and wider NSW by arrangement. Delivery costs depend on the piece, destination, access and level of service required. We do not offer international delivery.

You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address, contact details and access information are correct. If delivery requires special access, such as stairs, lifts, long carries or in-home placement, please tell us before we confirm the arrangement.

Where delivery, installation or freight is provided by a third party, we will tell you the relevant arrangements. Additional terms from that provider may apply.

10. Cancellations and change of mind

If you need to cancel or pause a custom commission, contact us as soon as possible. Because custom work is made for a particular brief and may involve timber or materials ordered for your project, the outcome will depend on the stage of the work and the specific quote. We will discuss the available options and any reasonable costs already incurred.

We do not offer change-of-mind returns for custom-made furniture or one-off ready-made pieces. This does not remove or limit any right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Workmanship support and Australian Consumer Law

In the Groove Woodwork provides a 12-month workmanship guarantee on completed furniture. This guarantee relates to workmanship and is additional to any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these Terms, our Delivery, Care & Returns page or any other communication is intended to exclude, restrict or modify consumer guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

If you believe there is a problem with a piece, please contact us promptly with your order details, a description of the issue and clear photographs where possible. We will consider the issue and work with you on the appropriate next step.

Normal timber movement, natural variation, ordinary wear and tear, accidental damage, incorrect installation by someone else, use outside the intended purpose, or care that is inconsistent with the care advice supplied with the piece may affect the assistance available. This does not affect rights that cannot be excluded under law.

12. Care information

Care instructions are provided with each finished piece. Because the right care depends on the timber and finish, please follow the specific care advice supplied for your furniture.

As a general guide, wipe spills promptly, use coasters or placemats for hot or wet items, avoid harsh chemical cleaners, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct heat or moisture.

13. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the words, photographs, videos, logos, designs, layout and other material on this website belong to In the Groove Woodwork or are used with permission.

You may view and share links to the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not reproduce, adapt, publish, sell, distribute or use our content commercially without our written permission.

14. Third-party links and social media

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including social-media platforms. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or terms.

15. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using the website or contacting us, you acknowledge that we may handle your personal information in accordance with that policy.

16. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this website or reliance on website information that has not been confirmed in a written quote or order confirmation.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be published on our website with its effective date. The terms that apply to a custom commission or ready-made purchase will be the terms confirmed in the relevant quote, invoice, order confirmation or written agreement.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute will be subject to the laws and courts that apply in New South Wales, except where another law requires otherwise.
